Vietnam Tourist Visa
Getting a tourist visa for Vietnam is incredibly easy. While you can apply for the visa through your closest embassy or consulate, why go through the hassle?
The easiest and most headache-free way to get to Vietnam is to go through their visa-on-arrival process. You will need to select a private Vietnam Visa agency that will fax or e-mail you a visa approval letter. You will need to have this with you when you board your flight (along with 2 passport-sized photos) so that you can receive a visa stamp once you arrive in Vietnam.
Processing time is normally 2-3 business days. The visa will normally enable you to stay for up to 1 month (extendable for 30 days once inside Vietnam).

Visa required for U.S. citizens before you go to Vietnam: Yes. In order to enter Vietnam, you will need a valid passport with at least six months validity remaining and a Vietnamese visa, a visa exemption document, or a written approval letter for a visa upon arrival.
Visa required for non-U.S. citizens before you go to Vietnam: Check this list to see if you need a visa for Vietnam. There is another good list at MyVietnamVisa that allows you to search by country.
You need to fill out the application form at a reputable Vietnam visa agency such as VietnamVisa. Check out my post on the best Vietnam visa agencies for more detail.
- Your Vietnam visa agent will e-mail or fax to you an approval letter from the Vietnam Immigration Department.
Make sure that you take your visa approval letter and 2 passport-sized photos with you on your trip to Vietnam! Also make sure you have some cash on you to pay the visa fees on arrival.
