If you are one of the many people looking to come to the United Arab Emirates for work, be prepared because getting a work permit for the United Arab Emirates requires an ample dose of patience. The process can be confusing, and there is not a heck of a lot of easy-to-understand information available on the web. Work permit requirements can also vary quite substantially from emirate to emirate (and even within a single emirate). Just remember, that normally, your employer will take care of this for you.
The Ministry of Labour page provides unimpressive information on the work permit process
In order to work in the UAE, you are going to need to get a work permit. You will likely first be issued an Employment visa, which will grant you a stay of 30 days while your company is running around getting the work permit and residency visa stuff done for you.
