If you’re looking for other Surinamese visas, click here.
Want to stay in Suriname for longer than 3 months? You will need to get an Authorization for Temporary Stay (MVK, Machtiging Kort Verblijf) if you are one of those people who are required to get a Tourist or Business Visa to enter the country (yes U.S. passport holders, this includes YOU). Don’t book your ticket until the MVK is approved by the Embassy, and start the application process 3 months before you intend to travel to Suriname.
If you are a U.S. passport holder, you will apply for an Authorization for Temporary Stay (MVK) before you travel to Suriname by sending your application and required materials to the Washington D.C. Consulate. Full details on the process are here.
The Consulate General of the Republic of Suriname has more details on exactly what happens after you submit your materials.
Don’t get sick! Check vaccination requirements here.
