Nigeria Tourist Visa
Interested in going to Nigeria to check out the sights? You might need to get a tourist visa for Nigeria.
As stated here at the Nigeria Immigration Service, you are going to need to get the Nigeria Tourist Visa if you want to visit Nigeria for tourism or if you want to visit family members.
Visas can be issued for single entry (up to 90 days) or multiple entry (up to 180 days).

I’ll break everything down for you below about how to go about getting the Nigeria Tourist Visa.
Visa required for U.S. citizens before you go to Nigeria: Yes. U.S. citizens require a passport and a Nigeria visa to enter the country, and should obtain the visa in advance from a Nigerian embassy or consulate.
Visa required for non-U.S. citizens before you go to Nigeria: Everyone except members of one of the fifteen (15) ECOWAS states needs a visa in order to get into Nigeria.
If you’re inside the U.S, there is a Consulate General in New York, a Consulate General in Atlanta, and the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington D.C.

- If you require a letter of invitation and don’t know anyone in Nigeria that can write you an invitation letter, ask your hotel or tour group to see if they can write a letter of invitation for you.
- In addition to the fees that you will have to pay for the visa, you will also have to pay a “processing fee.”
- Good practice is to call up the embassy or consulate to confirm the fee amounts.
Submit your required materials from Step 2 and visa fee from Step 3 to the embassy or consulate you found in Step 1.
- Congratulations! The Embassy (or Consulate General) of Nigeria will give to you your brand new Nigeria visa.
- Visa applications are typically processed in 4 business days (unless you decide to do expedited processing by paying extra).
- If you applied in person, go pick it up.
- If you applied by mail, wait until it gets to you.
