Mexico Long Term Non-Permanent Visa
Looking to stay for a while in Mexico, but not live there permanently? Here’s how to get a long term non-permanent visa for your visit to Mexico. This is called a FM3 – No immigrante visa. To learn how to acquire other types of Mexican visas, click here.
You will need to know Spanish to apply for this visa!
Fill in the application here:
- Choose the option that meets your needs under “¿Qué desea hacer?” and “Especifique”
Record your “pieza” number and your “clavo” (password) that will pop up after you have filled in your application.
Gather the required documents that are required for your situation.
Go to the local Institutio Nacional de Migracion (INM) office with the required documents you gathered from Step 3.
During this first visit to the INM, they will give you a Número Unico de Tramite (NUT) and a NIP that you will need to check the status of your application online.
Check on the status of your application here.
If you see a status update that says “Notificación en ventanilla,” make a second trip down to the INM office. Be sure to bring the relevant fees and any other required documentation.
After processing, you will have to go down again to the INM to get your new visa. Congratulations!
