How to Get an Iran Student Visa

Iran Student Visa

Iran Student Visa

Going to Iran to study?  You will likely need to get a Student Visa for Iran.  The Iran Student visa is issued for foreign nationals who intend to study in the Islamic republic of Iran.

The biggest hurdle is getting into an Iranian school and obtaining the visa authorization number from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran.

  • Wikipedia has a giant master list of schools in Iran.
  • Go to my Iran visa page to get information on how to get a different type of visa for Iran.
  • I’m going to tell you below all you need to know about getting the Iran Student Visa:
1
Contact an approved travel agent
  • There are a number of reputable Iranian tour companies that can help you, including G Adventures.
  • You will need to contact the agency and fill out a form with your personal details, which consulate/embassy you want to process your Iranian visa, and your travel details. This agency or tour group will then apply on your behalf to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs so that you can get a visa authorization number.
2
Wait for your visa authorization number

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Iran will take some time (depending on your nationality) to fax your visa authorization number to whatever Iranian consulate or embassy you selected from Step 1 above.  Contact your agent to confirm if/when this was sent.

3
Locate the embassy your tour guide uses
  • If you’re inside the U.S.:

Iranian Interests Section of the Embassy of Pakistan

4
Confirm receipt of the visa authorization number

Your agency will need to confirm if the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Iran has already faxed your visa authorization number to your consulate/embassy.

5
Gather documentation.

Gather the required documents (which will vary from consulate to consulate).

6
Submit materials
  • Either apply in person or mail the information to the Consulate/Embassy you found in Step 3.
7
Receive your visa

Congratulations! Wait for a little bit to get your Iranian visa. That’s it!
