While a lot of people can travel to Greece without needing to get a visa, citizens of some countries who intend to go to Greece for a short stay (less than 90 days) will need to get Schengen Visa for Greece.

  • Greece is a party to the Schengen Agreement. As such, U.S. Citizens may enter Greece for up to 90 days for tourist or business purposes without a visa.

Gather documentation
  • Go to the website of the consulate or embassy you found in Step 1 to find the exact required documents you need. They should be similar to the documents required for people applying at a consulate or embassy in the United States.

Visa fee

Good practice is to go to the  website of your embassy or consulate (the one you found in Step 1) to confirm the fee amounts.

Submit materials
  • Submit your required materials from Step 2 and visa fee from Step 3 to the embassy or consulate you found in Step 1.
  • Each consulate or embassy will have different application submission instructions.

Receive your visa

Congratulations!  The Embassy or Consulate of Greece will give to you your brand new Greece visa.
