Going to Bahrain for a little rest and relaxation? You will need to get a tourist visa for Bahrain.

Bahrain has a pretty streamlined visa process if you are looking to stay in Bahrain for just a short time (up to 2 weeks). U.S. citizens and foreigners from other select countries can obtain a visa on arrival at the Bahrain ports of entry. Foreigners of a lot of countries (including the United States) can also apply online using the simple e-visa process. I recommend using this route as it is quick, painless, and will save you time.

U.S. and Canadian passport holders can obtain a multiple entry visa for a 4-week stay as described here.
- The items required for this visa are listed here if you are applying in the United States.
- Processing time for this is 2 to 4 weeks.
UK passport holders can obtain a multiple entry visa valid for 4 week stay.
For citizens of 35 Countries (See below):
- Passport holders from the countries listed below can get a 3 months multiple entry visa valid for a 2 weeks stay.
- The items required for this visa are listed here if you are applying in the United States.
- Processing time for this is 2 to 4 weeks.
- The countries are: Germany, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Britain, Ireland, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Finland, Austria, Denmark, Switzerland, Japan, Norway, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Hong Kong, United States of America, Portugal, Malaysia, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Greece, Monaco, San Marino, Singapore, Brunei, Vatican City, Andorra, China, Thailand, Korea)
All nationals of countries I have not mentioned above:
- You need to get a Visa (non-objection certificate) from their sponsor in Bahrain.
- The sponsor will process a visa from the Ministry of Interior in Bahrain.
- You need to ask the sponsor to fax or e-mail a copy of the visa to you before your departure.
- The original visa will be waiting for you at the Bahraini airport.
