For those wanting to go to Afghanistan, the required information varies from consulate to consulate.
- Visas on arrival are not available, and you will need to get one in advance.
- Be wary of doing blog searches for information on getting the Afghanistan visa because the visa information seems to change from year to year. You risk getting outdated information! For this reason, I’ve look to keep updated, fresh links on this site to connect you with the actual government websites.
- Can you get a visa for independent travel (on tourism) to Afghanistan? While the recommended way for getting a visa for travel to Afghanistan would be to go through a tour group, getting a visa for independent travel might be possible. The answer to this question varies from consulate to consulate. Contact your consulate ahead of time to find out.
