Here is the quick list of the top five dating sites and apps in Denmark. I’ll go into more detail in my reviews later in this article.
When I think about online dating in Denmark, Austria comes to mind. Much like the online dating scene in Austria, Denmark has a small but pretty effective online dating market. The best dating sites and apps in Denmark are full of members and give you excellent chances to find love in this country. For the sites that I mention below, it helps if you live in Copenhagen, which has the highest number of singles compared to any other city in the country.
Should you decide to sign up for the sites or apps I recommend below, be sure to read member profiles carefully as you might come across a lot of fake profiles and women looking for “clients.” Usually, I can spot these profiles pretty easily. A woman who has only one picture posted, is wearing a tight bikini and making an overly suggestive pose are usually clear signals to steer clear. Another clue of a pretender is a woman who has a poorly written profile. As a general rule of thumb, the more boring the profile, the more boring the person.

Without further ado, here are my detailed reviews of the top five dating sites & apps in Denmark.
Launched in 1998, Dating.dk is Denmark’s largest dating site. This site has a simple visual design, slightly dated to my eye, and an easy-to-navigate website.
Dating.dk
Dating.dk is not a flashy website in terms of features either, but everything looks fine and works well. It’s obvious that the people behind Dating.dk continue to actively support this site, with events, articles, YouTube videos and killer customer support all in attendance here.
With so many users, this is definitely a site you’ll want to try out – if you speak Danish and live in Denmark that is. If you don’t live in Denmark or speak the language, you won’t be able to sign up, which will make it a difficult site to use.
Sign up Process
Sign-up on Dating.dk is surprisingly easy. To start, enter your preferred match gender, age-range and geographical proximity, and either link your Facebook account or manually enter your username, password, gender, birthday, postcode and email.
After this, you are free to browse the site and search through profiles for a match. There is no lengthy personality test or anything like that to take, though there is more to fill out in your profile, when you feel like it. These sections include more information about your ideal match’s appearance, lifestyle, background, interests and values.
How to Locate Potential Matches
You can choose between Quick and Detailed searches, with various filters (age, location, habits, appearance, etc.) to choose from to narrow down your search. You can also let Dating.dk do the work for you. Select criteria for your ideal match, and Dating.dk will find and recommend matches for you, even sending them to you by email.
How to Communicate with Other Members
Communicating with potential matches on Dating.dk is much the same as on other dating sites. You can start things off by sending Interest, and take it up a notch by sending a message or starting a chat if they’re online.
Unfortunately, messages and chat only support text, no audio or video. And, of course, you can also add profiles to your Favorites.
Unique Site Features
Dating.dk does well in supporting itself as a dating website by providing various related media and services. For example, Dating.dk has an extensive YouTube channel, filled with videos. And not just quick 30-second promotional videos either – some of these videos are 10-minutes plus.
Videos include roundtable discussions on dating and relationships, user interviews, how-to videos for using the site, and fun dating experiments where blind dates are set up between two members.
Dating.dk also links to a blog with articles on love, dating and relationships, as well as tips for using the site. Finally, Dating.dk organizes and hosts many live events for its users, everything from cocktail parties and organized trips to live concerts.

- Premium – Unlimited communication, advanced search options, invisible browsing, CPR Warranty (Dating.dk verifies your age and zip code), see who’s favorited you or visited your profile
- Highlights – Highlighted profile in search results
Happn
Happn is designed to help you find singles in your local area with a “missed connection” intention. It is an excellent app for those who don’t want to go far to find love, or even just for people who want to meet new friends.
Sign up Process
Happn has a straightforward registration process, but one exciting thing about it is that you don’t use email. Instead, you can sign up via a Facebook profile, your Apple or Google ID, or your phone number.
How to Locate Potential Matches
Happn uses a GPS to show you matches in your area and tells you if there are areas where the two of you have crossed paths. While it is an app intended for local users, I should mention that there are some long-distance capabilities, with the map being able to be expanded up to 55 miles.
In addition, once you find a person, you can see how much in common you have with them and then communicate.
How to Communicate with Other Members
You can heart someone you’re interested in, and if they heart you back, you can then message each other. Happn includes audio calling as well and a video chat.
Video chatting is sadly limited to five minutes for free users. However, I do like how much communication the app has for free users, as some have none at all.
You can also send small messages called FlashNotes to noncrushes, but they are limited.

What is Included in Each Membership Level
Happn has a premium version. This version is ad-free and gives you ten daily Flash Notes. In addition, you can see who has liked your profile, let you go incognito, hide specific info, undo a like or skip, and video calls up to an hour.
I enjoy how much you can do with the free version, and the premium version adds a decent number of unique features. They do promise more features on the way, which I will be interested to see, as some of it is a bit lacking.
Hinge

Bumble
As another option, I recommend you sign up for Bumble. I did a full review of Bumble here.
Tinder
Tinder is the most popular dating app in Denmark, but you will not likely find your soul mate on here. I suggest downloading Tinder to your phone after you have exhausted all the options above.
