Are you a foreign diplomat interested in traveling to Japan? If so, you are going to need to get a Diplomatic Visa.
As stated at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan website, this type of visa is for constituent members of diplomatic missions or consular offices of foreign governments hosted by the Government of Japan, people involved in activities on the part of those who are provided with similar privileges and/or immunities as are given to diplomatic missions in accordance with treaties or international customary practices, and family members belonging to the same household.

I’ll break everything down for you below about how to go about getting the Japan Diplomatic Visa.
- If you’re inside the U.S, you can find your “Jurisdiction” (i.e. based on the State you live in) here.
- If you’re outside of the U.S., find your consulate at this site here.
Follow the steps at this link here provided by the Japan Ministry of Foreign Affairs for this type of visa.
Submit your required materials from Step 2 to the consulate or embassy you found in Step 1.
Congratulations! You now have a Japan visa!
