How to Get a Dependant Visa for the Dominican Republic

Dominican Republic Dependant Visa

Dominican Republic Dependant Visa

Dependant Visas (a.k.a. Dependent Visas) are issued for family members of beneficiaries of diplomatic, official, courtesy, business and student visas, subject to the type of visa granted to the main family member or employer on whom they depend.

Go to my Dominican Republic visa page for information on other types of visas for the Dominican Republic.

I’ll break everything down for you below about how to go about how to get the Dependant Visa for the Dominican Republic.

Visa required for U.S. citizens: Yes.

Visa required for non-U.S. citizens: Yes.

1
Find your closest consulate

If you’re inside the U.S, you apply at your closest consulate on this site here, but the consulates I have listed below are the only ones that have clear-cut information on how to apply for various visas. Note that the documents required for various visas change from consulate to consulate. Also, the New York website indicates nowhere what kind of visa services it provides.

I recommend you call them to find out where you need to apply, if you are in that area.

Washington D.C.
Chicago
Glendale, CA

If you’re outside of the U.S.: Click here.

2
Gather documentation

The official list of required documents is presented here at the Dominican Republic Ministry of Foreign Affairs website. You can see the English version here.

3
Visa fee

Check the latest fees at your consulate or embassy.

If you are applying from within the United States, the latest fees are listed here.

4
Submit materials

Submit your required materials from Step 2 and visa fee from Step 3 to the embassy or consulate you found in Step 1.

Check your consulate or embassy’s website for hours of operation.

5
Receive your visa

Congratulations! You will receive your brand new Dominican Republic visa.

Visa applications are typically processed between 10 and 15 working days depending on date of travel, prior requests and staff availability.
