Kazakhstan Student Visa
Did you earn a spot at a school in Kazakhstan? If you are planning to go to Kazakhstan to study, you might need to get a Student Visa for Kazakhstan. A lot of people call this visa the Visa for Study.
As stated here at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, the study visa is issued to foreign nationals who fit into the following groups:
- Traveling to the Republic of Kazakhstan for admission to secondary and higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, or to study there if a proper MFA visa support is issued on the basis of a letter of educational institutions registered with judicial authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan or the Ministry of Education and Science;
- Traveling to the Republic of Kazakhstan to engage in practical training, internships – based on a letter of legal entities registered with the judiciary of the Republic of Kazakhstan, diplomatic missions and consular institutions of foreign states, international organizations accredited in the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- For ethnic Kazakhs (based on documents proof of their ethnic origin) who temporarily stay in the Republic of Kazakhstan and enrolled in educational institutions (Schools, Colleges, Universities etc.) of the Republic of Kazakhstan – on the basis of a letter from the educational institution duly registered with the judicial authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan or the Ministry of Education and Science.
Visas for study (ОУВ) are issued for single, double, triple and multiple entries.

You are going to need to check the website of the Consulate or Embassy you found in Step 1 to find the list of required documents for this visa.

Every visa will require the paperwork below PLUS the additional paperwork listed on your Embassy or Consulate website.
Fees can be found on your Consulate or Embassy website.
Submit your required materials from Step 2 to the Embassy or Consulate you found in Step 1.
- Congratulations! You will sooner than later get your Kazakhstan visa.
- All foreign citizens must register at the local Office of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan or at the hotel within 72 hours upon arrival to Kazakhstan. Otherwise you will be fined by the Immigration Service on departure.
