Nigeria Subject to Regularization Visa
The Subject to Regularization Visa for Nigeria (STR) is the most difficult types of visa to get. Be sure to have an ample dose of patience because the bureaucracy is going to be thick. If you manage to survive, you will be the proud owner of a Subject to Regularization Visa for Nigeria.

I’ll break everything down for you below about how to go about getting the Subject to Regularization Visa for Nigeria (i.e. Nigeria Work Visa, STR).
If you’re inside the U.S, there is a Consulate General in New York,a Consulate General in Atlanta, and the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington D.C.
The Nigeria Immigration Service has a list of required documents here, but it is pretty scant and incomplete. I recommend using the Embassy of Nigeria’s list of required documents for the TWP at this site.
- In addition to the fees that you will have to pay for the visa, you will also have to pay a “processing fee.”
- Good practice is to call up the embassy or consulate to confirm the fee amounts.
Submit your required materials from Step 2 and visa fee from Step 3 to the embassy or consulate you found in Step 1.
- If you applied in person, go pick it up.
- If you applied by mail, wait until it gets to you.
