Nigeria Temporary Work Permit
Are you going to Nigeria for work? You might need to get a Temporary Work Permit for Nigeria. This type of work permit is for experts invited by corporate bodies to provide specialized skilled services, such as after sales installation, maintenance, or repairs of machines and equipment.

I’ll break everything down for you below about how to go about getting the Temporary Work Permit for Nigeria (i.e. Nigeria Work Visa, TWP).
If you’re inside the U.S, there is a Consulate General in New York, a Consulate General in Atlanta, and the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington D.C.
The Nigeria Immigration Service has a list of required documents here, but it is pretty scant and incomplete. I recommend using the Embassy of Nigeria’s list of required documents for the TWP at this site.
- In addition to the fees that you will have to pay for the visa, you will also have to pay a “processing fee.”
- Good practice is to call up the embassy or consulate to confirm the fee amounts.
Submit your required materials from Step 2 and visa fee from Step 3 to the embassy or consulate you found in Step 1.
- If you applied in person, go pick it up.
- If you applied by mail, wait until it gets to you.
