I’ll break everything down for you below about how to go about getting the Nigeria Official Visa.
Visa required for U.S. citizens before you go to Nigeria: Yes. U.S. citizens require a passport and a Nigeria visa to enter the country, and should obtain the visa in advance from a Nigerian embassy or consulate.
Visa required for non-U.S. citizens before you go to Nigeria: Everyone except members of one of the fifteen (15) ECOWAS states needs a visa in order to get into Nigeria.
If you’re inside the U.S, there is a Consulate General in New York, a Consulate General in Atlanta, and the Embassy of Nigeria in Washington D.C.
- The official list of required documents is here at the Nigeria Immigration Service website.
- If you are applying by mail, don’t forget the self-addressed, pre-paid overnight return envelope. Be sure to keep all the tracking details.
Submit your required materials from Step 2 and visa fee from Step 3 to the embassy or consulate you found in Step 1.
- Congratulations! The Embassy (or Consulate General) of Nigeria will give to you your brand new Nigeria visa.
Don’t get sick! Check vaccination requirements here.
