Russia Student Visa
Going to Russia to study at one of their fine academic institutions? You are going to need to get the Student Visa for Russia. The beauty of this visa is that it can be extended to cover the length of time you plan to study in Russia.
If you are applying from the United States, submit your visa application to Invisa Logistic Services, the company that the Embassy of Russia in Washington D.C. has outsourced visa processing to.
If you are applying from outside the United States, you can get your visa processed at any Russian embassy or consulate
The first action item for getting the Russia Student visa is to secure a spot at a school in Russia. You will then have to get them to send you a letter of invitation which you will need to apply for the student visa in your home country.
I’ll break everything down for you below about how to go about getting the Russia Student Visa if you are applying from within the United States.

Your school will help you with this. They will work with the authorities in Russia to process all the paperwork and then will send you an official invitation letter which you will need in order to apply for the visa. The turnaround time for this step is about 7 to 10 days.

You can apply by mail (expensive option) or make an appointment to apply in person (cheaper option).
Congratulations! You will receive your new Russia visa.
- If you plan to spend more than seven days in Russia, you need to register your visa and migration card (which you will get upon arrival to Russia) through your sponsor or landlord.
