Rwanda Tourist Visa
Are you going to Rwanda on tourism? You might need to get a tourist visa before you go. There are two types of tourist visas for Rwanda T1 and T2.
A T1 Tourist Visa is for a person from the following countries: Democratic Republic of Congo, Germany, Hong Kong, Mauritius, South Africa, Sweden, Singapore, United Kingdom and the United States of America to visit for a holiday, sightseeing, social or other recreational purpose or to visit relatives or other short term non work purposes.
Visas will be issued, without application, at an official point of entry into Rwanda. Applications for a visa may also be made at a Rwandan Embassy or diplomatic mission. I really don’t recommend applying before you go though since the process is so easy once you land in Kigali.
Rwanda’s T2 Tourist Visa is for a person who is NOT a citizen of Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Germany, Hong Kong, Kenya, Mauritius, South Africa, Sweden, Tanzania, Uganda, Singapore, United Kingdom and United States of America to visit for a holiday, sightseeing, social, or recreational reasons or to visit relatives or other short term non work purpose.
Applications are made at the Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration or at Rwandan diplomatic mission.

Visa required for U.S. citizens before you go to Rwanda: No.
A valid passport and a yellow fever certificate of immunization are required for those 9 months of age and older. Visas are not required for U.S. citizens entering Rwanda for fewer than 90 days of tourism. U.S. citizens planning on remaining in Rwanda for more than 90 days must apply for a permit within 15 days of their arrival at the immigration office in Kigali.
Visa required for non-U.S. citizens before you go to Rwanda: If you are on the list in the middle of this page, you do not need to get a visa before you go to Rwanda.
