Mozambique is truly an awesome country and one of my favorite countries in Africa. I actually have quite a few friends there who treat me to mouthwatering seafood and delicious caipirinhas every time I go down there.
Let me tell you below how to get a Tourist Visa for Mozambique. This visa type is for people coming to Mozambique for tourism or recreation.
(Go to my Mozambique visa page for information on other types of visas for Mozambique.)
Visa required for U.S. citizens before you go to Mozambique: Yes.
Visa required for non-U.S. citizens before you go to Mozambique: If you are on this list, you DO NOT need a visa in order to enter Mozambique. Visas for short term tourist and business stays can be purchased on arrival at ports of entry in Mozambique.
If you’re inside the U.S.:
Embassy of the Republic of Mozambique
If you’re outside of the U.S.: Click here.
The best list of required documents if you are applying within the U.S. is here.
The appropriate processing fee should be made payable to “Embassy of Mozambique” if applying at the Embassy of Mozambique in Washington D.C.
Payments must be made by money order (UNITED STATES OR CANADIAN DOLLARS ONLY).
The fee will depend on how long you want to stay in Mozambique, whether you want single-entry, double-entry, or multiple-entry, and how quickly you want the visa to be processed.
Check the bottom of this page here for the latest fees.
Submit your required materials from Step 2 and visa fee from Step 3 to the embassy or consulate you found in Step 1.
If you want to apply in person: If you applied at the Embassy in Washington D.C., be mindful of the hour of operation of the Consular Section of the Embassy: Monday – Friday: 9am – 1pm
If you want to apply by mail: Enclose a self-addressed prepaid return envelope.
Congratulations! The Embassy of Mozambique will give to you your brand new Mozambique visa.
Don’t get sick! Check vaccination requirements here.
