North Korea Visa General Information and Eligibility

- Visa required for U.S. citizens before you go to North Korea: Yes
- You are required to be part of a pre-arranged tour group.
- If you are going to enter and depart North Korea through China (and are staying in China for more than 24 hours), you will also need to obtain a multiple-entry visa for China because a valid Chinese visa is required to leave North Korea at the conclusion of your visit.
- I recommend, even if you are in China for less than 24 hours, to go ahead and get a China Tourist Visa. See the link here for information on how to get that.
- Visa required for non-U.S. citizens: Yes, but you must be part of a pre-arranged tour group.
- Where to find the North Korea Embassy or Consulate closest to your place of residence:
