- No visa needed if you go to Kish Island, Iran. I went to this amazing place in 2010 and had a blast! I ate great Iranian food and swam in the beautiful turquoise waters of the Persian Gulf.
- If you want to go to mainland Iran, I recommend you start to make plans at least 10 weeks before you intend to travel to Iran because you will need to apply through a travel agency recognized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran.
- Visa required for non-U.S. citizens:
- All foreign visitors require a visa to enter Iran except citizens of Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Slovenia and Turkey. Citizens of these countries can stay for up to 3 months without a visa.
- Foreigners of some countries can get a visa upon arrival at the airports in Iran. This visa is valid for 2 weeks. Check the green box on the right side of the page at this link to see if you are eligible.
