How to Get a Tourist Visa for Togo

Togo Tourist Visa

Togo Tourist Visa

Getting a tourist visa to go to Togo is a lot easier than you think. I highly recommend you to get your visa before you travel to Togo for two reasons.

  1. When you arrive in Lomé after a very long flight, do you really want to stand in a long line to wait for your visa?
  2. You can stay in Togo for 3 months instead of 7 days.  Therefore, if you fall in love with Togo, and want to stay longer, you don’t have to make the trek over to the Direction Générale de la Documentation Nationale in Lomé in the northern part of the city to apply for an extension.

Nevertheless, if you want to get visa on arrival, you can still do it.  Also, if you want to extend your visa after those 7 days, you can do that too.  Full details on that process are here.

Below I will explain how to get a tourist visa for Togo BEFORE you arrive.

Visa required for U.S. citizens before you go to Togo:  Yes.

Visa required for non-U.S. citizens:  If you are on this list here then you need to get a visa (note the page is in French, so you can use Google Translate to convert it into English)

Go to my Togo visa page for information on how to get a different type of visa for Togo.
