How To Get A Tourist Visa for Yemen

Yemen Tourist Visa

Yemen Tourist Visa

Getting a tourist visa for Yemen is actually amazingly easy.  The only weird thing the Embassy makes you do is to get a note from your doctor to confirm that you are in good health!  Single entry visas are valid for 3 months, and multiple entry visas are valid for 6 months.

Go to my Yemen visa page for information about other types of visas for this country.

1
Check to see if you need a visa
  • Visa required for U.S. citizens:  Yes
  • Visa required for non-U.S. citizens: Required by all except nationals of Iraq, Jordan and Syria.
2
Find your closest consulate
  • Click here if you’re outside of the U.S.
  • If you’re inside the U.S.:

Embassy of the Republic of Yemen in Washington DC

3
Gather the required documents
4
Submit the information to the Consulate

Working hours and other information on the Embassy of Yemen in the United States are at this website.

5
Wait for approval

Congratulations!  After about 2 weeks, the Embassy of Yemen will give to you your brand new Yemeni visa.

6
Register with the authorities

Register with Yemeni authorities if you plan on staying in Yemen for longer than 2 weeks.

Yemeni law requires that all visitors/tourists register at a Yemeni police station or at the Passport and Immigration Authority within two weeks after arrival to Yemen.

Failure to register will result in complications upon departure and a possible fine.
