The Transit Visa for Belarus is for those people going through Belarus en route to another country. As stated here at the Belarus Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Transit Visa for Belarus is issued for transit through the territory of Belarus for the stated period on the visa, but not more than for 1 year, and is valid for 2 days from the date of entry of a foreign citizen into Belarus.

- U.S. citizens need to get a visa in advance of going to Belarus.
- All U.S. citizens visiting or residing in Belarus must register with the local office of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Ministry of Interior (formerly OVIR) within 5 business days of arrival.
- If you receive a visa for a temporary stay but want to stay in Belarus for longer than 90 days, you need to apply for a temporary or permanent residence with the Ministry of Interior. You must make the application in Belarus within the 90 days allotted for a temporary stay.
