Are you headed to Mongolia in order to study? You are going to need to get a Student Visa before you go.
As stated here the main thing you will need to get is approval from the Office for Immigration, Naturalisation and Foreign Citizens (OINFC) in Ulaanbaatar.
(Go to my Mongolia visa page for information on other types of visas for Mongolia.)
I’ll break everything down for you below about how to go about getting the Mongolia Student Visa.
- The main hurdle is to make sure that you get prior approval from the Office for Immigration, Naturalisation and Foreign Citizens (OINFC) in Ulaanbaatar.
- After you get into a school in Mongolia and then secure approval from the OINFC, you can then gather the official list of required documents (as for any visa) at this page here at the Mongolia Department of Immigration. You should definitely check the website of the Consulate or Embassy you found in Step 1 above to confirm what is required for you.
- The Embassy of Mongolia in Washington D.C. and the Embassy of Mongolia in London both have organized lists of what is required as well.
- Visa fees might vary depending on where you apply, so go to the website of the Embassy or Consulate you found in Step 1. The official list of fees is here.
- If you are applying in the U.S., the latest visa fees are listed here.
- US Citizens only, click here.
- If you are applying in the United Kingdom, the latest visa fees are listed here.
- Submission instructions will vary from consulate to consulate. I recommend you check the submission instructions at the website of the embassy or consulate you found in Step 1.
Congratulations! The Embassy or Consulate of Mongolia will give to you your brand new Mongolia visa.
Don’t get sick! Check vaccination requirements here.
