Are you going through Montenegro en route to another destination? You might need to get an Airport Transit Visa.
(Go to my Montenegro visa page for information on other types of visas for Montenegro.)
I’ll break everything down for you below about how to go about getting the Montenegro Airport Transit Visa.
- Visa required for U.S. citizens before you go to Montenegro: No.
- U.S. citizens with tourist, official, or diplomatic passports do not need a visa to enter and stay in Montenegro for up to 90 days. However, you must register within the first 24 hours of your stay.
- If you are staying in a hotel or tourist facility, the hotel will automatically register you; otherwise you are personally responsible to appear at the police station to do so.
- Visa required for non-U.S. citizens before you go to Montenegro:
- Check this page here to see if you need to get a visa for Montenegro.
- If you’re inside the U.S., click here.
- If you’re outside of the U.S.: Click here.
- The official list of required documents is here, but you should definitely double check the website of the Consulate or Embassy you found in Step 1 above to confirm what is required for you.
- Visa fees might vary depending on where you apply, so go to the website of the Embassy or Consulate you found in Step 1. You can also call them up if you are unable to find their website.
- Submission instructions will vary from consulate to consulate. I recommend you check the submission instructions at the website of the embassy or consulate you found in Step 1.
Congratulations! The Embassy or Consulate of Montenegro will give to you your brand new Montenegro visa.
Don’t get sick! Check vaccination requirements here.
