How to Get a Tourist Visa for Pakistan

Pakistan Tourist Visa

Pakistan Tourist Visa

Headed to Pakistan for holiday or vacation?  Foreigners from most countries will need to get a Tourist Visa before they go.

If you see that your country is on this list at the Pakistan Directorate General of Immigration and Passports, you are eligible for a Visit/Tourist Visa for three months validity and stay with double entry.

One thing to note as you are gathering all the paperwork for the Tourist Visa is that there can be a huge variation from Consulate to Consulate and Embassy to Embassy in terms of the required documents.

(Go to my Pakistan visa page for information on other types of visas for Pakistan.)

I’ll break everything down for you below about how to go about getting the Pakistan Tourist Visa.

  • Visa required for U.S. citizens before you go to Pakistan:  Yes
    • U.S. citizens will need to get visas at a Pakistani Embassy or Consulate.  There is no such thing as a visa on arrival for U.S. citizens.
  • Visa required for non-U.S. citizens before you go to Pakistan:
1
Find your consulate
  • If you’re inside the U.S., go to this link at the Embassy of Pakistan (in Washington D.C.) website.
    • At the very top of the page, it will say “Consulates.”
    • Unless, you live in the Washington D.C. jurisdiction, you can click on that “Consulates” link to find the consulate that services your jurisdiction (based on your State).
2
Gather the required documents
  • The required documents can vary quite considerably depending on where you apply.  You need to check the website of the embassy or consulate you found in Step 1 in order to find the required documents for your particular situation.  The required documents should look a lot like this page here at the Consulate of Pakistan (New York, NY).
3
Visa Fee
  • Visa fees will depend on what country you are from.  You are going to need to go to the website of the Embassy or Consulate you found in Step 1.  However, as a guideline in order to get a ballpark figure, you can see this page here at the Consulate of Pakistan (New York, NY).
4
Submit your materials
  • Submission instructions will vary from consulate to consulate and embassy to embassy, so you will need to check the submission instructions at the website of the embassy or consulate you found in Step 1.
5
Congratulations!

The Embassy or Consulate of Pakistan will give to you your brand new Pakistan visa.
