- I’ve gotten a visa on arrival at the airport in the past (as a tourist), but it can take a long time, and you might have to wait in some ridiculous lines. Also, visas on arrival are not available at land ports of entry. Your best bet in order to avoid any headaches is to get a visa before you go to Ethiopia.
