Liberia Tourist Visa

Liberia Tourist Visa

Liberia’s consulate and embassy websites are amazing. Having looked at hundreds of consulate and embassy sites for countries in West Africa, Liberia is up there at the top in terms of user friendliness and simplicity. Congratulations Liberia!

(For information on other types of visas for Liberia, go to my main Liberia visa page.

Below I will tell you all you need to know about how to get a Liberia Tourist Visa.

  • Visa required for U.S. citizens before you go to Liberia:  Yes, a passport and a visa are required for entry, as is evidence of yellow fever vaccination.
  • Visa required for non-U.S. citizens:  Yes, everyone who is not Liberian needs a visa.
1
Find your closest consulate

If you’re inside the U.S., you have two places to choose from:

Embassy of the Republic of Liberia in Washington D.C.

The Consulate General of the Republic of Liberia in New York

If you’re outside of the U.S.: Click here.

2
Gather documentation

The best list of required documents if you are applying within the U.S. is here at the New York Consulate website.

3
Visa fee

I recommend you go to your nearest Post Office and get a U.S. Postal Service Money Order. This money order will be payable to the “Liberia Consulate” if applying in New York and the “Embassy of Liberia” if applying in Washington D.C.

All the visa fees are posted in the table at this site here and on the Washington D.C. application form

4
Submit materials

Submit your required materials from Step 2 and visa fee from Step 3 to the embassy or consulate you found in Step 1.

  • If you want to apply in person: Be mindful of the hours of operation of the New York Consulate and the Washington D.C. embassy
  • If you want to apply by mail: Enclose a self-addressed prepaid return envelope of USPS Express Mail (Fed Ex and UPS also work)
5
Receive your visa

Congratulations! The Embassy of Liberia will give to you your brand new Liberian visa.
