How to Get a Social/Cultural Visit Visa for Indonesia

Indonesia Social Cultural Visit Visa

Indonesia Social Cultural Visit Visa

U.S. citizens: You can get your visa upon arrival in Indonesia (i.e. Visa on Arrival for Indonesia, VOA). The maximum stays permitted for the visa on arrival is 30 days.

If you plan to stay longer than 30 days, you need to mention your intention to stay longer.

Visa on Arrival for Indonesia can be extended for another 30 days.

Non-U.S. citizens: If you are NOT on the list of countries whose citizens can obtain visas upon arrival in Indonesia, you will need to apply for a visa in advance at your consulate.

1
Find your consulate

If you’re outside of the U.S., go to this site here.

If you’re inside the U.S, you can find your “jurisdiction” based on the State you live in here.

2
Translate website

In many cases, the website that you find will be in the local Indonesian language. You will need to click a button (normally on the top right of the page) to translate the website to English.

3
Find the visa page

Find a link somewhere on the page that says something like “Consular and Visas” or “Visas” or “Consulate Section.”

4
Find the social/cultural visit visa link

Find the link to “Social/Cultural Visit Visa” or “Visit Visa” to determine the required documents the Consulate requires to process your application.

5
Submit Materials

Submit the required information (and fees) that you gathered in Step 4 to the consulate.

6
Receive your visa

Congratulations! After a period of waiting, the Indonesian Consulate/Embassy will give to you your brand new Indonesia visa.

7
Vaccination information

Don’t get sick! Check vaccination requirements here at the CDC.
